Transformed by empathic crystals into the perfect paramour, Benedetta Galil is the last treasure of her fading world. When raiders attack—seeking to corrupt the crystals and conquer all of charted space—she gives herself as a prize to the one man in the universe who values freedom over power. Mercenary sheership Captain Corso Deynah left oppression behind him on a burning planet and has no use for a sex slave, even one as seductive as Benedetta. But while he stubbornly resists her body, her fierce spirit tempts him, and he will risk everything—his ship, his seclusion, the very stars—to win not just her passion but her love.

There are also 2 others stories, but my review will only be on Enslaved by Starlight
Jessa Slade!

My Rating 4.5 / 5

A romantic story that combines action, conspiracy, the discovery of personal needs and of course, a super sexy space mercenary! The story began with Corso, the captain of the Asphodel, being waking up by a call from a stunning stranger, Benedetta, who ask him his help to save her planet. What a great way to start a day!

Benedetta is what we can call a sex slave, but from her point of view, she's one of the last treasures of her planet. Giving herself to Corso in payment for his hard work, the captain is intriguing but no willing to keep a sex slave. Benedetta finds her way to get the captain, his ship and his crew to help her out, but at what cost?

L_253019803_largeThe story was really interesting and different from what I read (well so far from ''other space paranormal romance''). The way the author, Jessa Slade, introduced her characters, her story with humour and sexy exchanges between Benedetta and Corso, so I give my candy love for they relation!

399146_2901018130948_1425287260_33144000_340538495_n_largeI really enjoy reading and discovering this new world: Benedetta's lives on a planet were people are ''matched'' with a patron by the crystal they wore. Once they are together, the ''sex slave'' will developed feelings and will do whatever the patron needed be satisfies.

I appreciate the characters and the fast-paced storyline. I never wanted to put it aside. I dive into this new world and I was able to see it in my mind! I love all the descriptions and details around the rituals on Benedetta's planet.

I recommend you this novella, for its price, you really should buy it; it worth the payment and this is only for the third story from this book! This one should be on your TBR pile!

My rating: 3.5 / 5

This book was my very first from the author Jessa Slade and I wasn't sure which rating I should give.

Tumblr_ligxwgf2wz1qac8hfo1_500_largeThe basic story behind Sera and Ferris relationship is overwhelming! I really enjoy reading about the history of these Talyan / Repentant / Demons. The story itself was great too. I love everything about demons, I think the author got a great imagination, a wonderful creativity (Jeez, you should read all this stuff about the Talyan and it's only the beginning!). The first few chapters were enthralling, I was kind of obsessed with this book, and I love the main characters: Sera who's a hematologist, (I really love to read about people who are working in the Death department!) I was thrilled! The mystery around Ferris past was strong enough to keep me reading when I wasn't sure if I should.

Tumblr_lwo76yoi7y1r8kgp4o1_1280_largeTo be honest, sometimes I just wasn't into it. I really love the PNR books and I LOVE to read about a good romance, but in this story, the romance between Sera and Ferris got some flaws. The characters were getting super intense and the next second it was like there were nothing more. Like complete strangers and that's bother me a little. I would have loved to read more about the growing relation between Sera and Ferris so a give my sour kiss.
I have to admit that I found Sera a little childish and she keeps getting into trouble! That was sometimes ridiculous, but I keep reading because I love her personality. I thought that if I was in her case, I probably do the same.

Anyway I got the second and third books from this series and this won't back me down from reading the rest! I recommend this book to all PNR lovers even if I wanted more romance, this review is my own opinion but this could be the right kind of series for you!

For the one who aren't sure enough borrow the first one and you'll see for the rest!

Sidney Westerbrook has always studied darkness and damnation from a sensible distance. Now, to earn his place as a league Bookkeeper, he must discover why Chicago is such a battleground of soul-linked warriors. Cornered by yet another gang of demons, she unwittingly joins forces with a handsome scholar who can salvage her past, and she in turn may be the key to his investigations. ICED by Karen Marie Moning :D

I'm a huge fan of Karen Marie Moning, she is the one who introduced me to the PNR world! I stumble on Beyond the Highland Mist, in the bookshelf of my sister-in-law. I totally fell in love with the characters, the plot, the creativity (time travel, fae, and of course, the rippled, sexy, dark Highlander!!!). Then I found out about the Fever series. The 4th book was already release so a jump into it ASAP, just in time to be able to read the last book: Shadowfever! And now this! YAY!!! The blurb does not tell us much about ICED, but more about what Ms. Moning is currently working on!

Iced: A Dani O'Malley Novel (Fever World, #1)

Hardcover, 352 pages
Expected publication: October 30th 2012 by Delacorte Press

"I'm currently working on a trilogy that features Dani, Christian MacKeltar, Ryodan, and the mysterious 'Dancer,' set primarily in Fever-Dublin. Each installment in the trilogy is a stand-alone mystery, however there are larger plot arcs unfolding in the background...

..For those of you who have been worrying—the trilogy is not YA. If I had to categorize it, I would say it straddles the line between YA and adult uneasily. ...Many of the questions I left unanswered in the FEVER series are addressed in this new series.

Exciting news: I’ve agreed to write two more books after that. Once the new trilogy is complete, I’m returning to the core story begun in the FEVER series, and will resume writing about Mac, Barrons, V’lane, Cruce, the Unseelie king, the concubine, the Song of Making.

All in all, there are five more books coming about the Fever World!"

The King of Darkness by Elisabeth Staab Review

King of Darkness
(Chronicles of Yavn #1)

Elisabeth Staab

King of Darkness (Chronicles of Yavn #1)

Mass Market Paperback, 352 pages
Published February 7th 2012 by Sourcebooks (first published February 1st 2012)

This first book in a hot, edgy, dark paranormal romance series from a debut author has all the right stuff: a deep urban fantasy feel, a take-no-crap tough heroine and a sexy, arrogant vampire king who gets his comeuppance.

Isabel Anthony has lived a carefree existence masquerading as human, but when this party-girl meets the king of vampires, her world turns deep, dark, and dangerous double-quick. Thad Morgan is looking for the prophesied mate who will unlock his powers. But when he finally finds Isabel in a seedy nightclub, he thinks fate must have gotten it wrong.

My rating 5 / 5

Thad and Isabel were the perfect characters that blend into a stunning and delectable well written story about vampires, wizards (???) and a prophecy who's mixed up to create an enthralling, fast-paced and original PNR book.

I'm a vamps freak and I totally fell for this new take on vampire’s story. Hell yeah, vampires against wizards, I don't read a lot about this in PNR world! This one was new to me and I was instantly transported into this lethal world!

The story was more based on the prophecy between Thad, the future king of vampires, and is mate to-be Isabel, who's living outside the vampires ''stronghold''. The vampires and wizards are at war for centuries: the wizard, by stealing the life force (that's the way I understand it) of the vampire and by doing so, killing the poor vamp, obtains more power.

Isabel is kinda an outcast by living outside the wall of the vampire’s city, but when she meet Thad, the reaction/attraction between them is undeniable and she totally freak out. Even if Thad is handsome, super sexy and seems to take a great care of his people: all he wants is to be able to protect the vampires and find his true mate. The romance between them was wild and hot so I give my hot chocolate love!

I appreciated the action and all the characters in this novel! The wizards are a bunch of pure sadistic. They only crave for more power, but we don't really get into they world in the first book. We meet the ''bad Guy'' but we only get a glimpse of what they really are!

I really love the use of humour in this story. The author Elisabeth Staab did a really good job with this first book of the Chronicles of Yavn #1. I enjoy the world she created and I was eager to read something different about vampires. There were some sad moments that almost make me cry and some pretty funny too! I love to read about arrogant and strong male who falls for the beautiful/kick-ass female! I don't want to sell all the punch so I won't say more, but I truly recommend this book to every vampire’s fans and PNR lovers.

You really should get your copy! Beware of hot and sexy scenes O.o
