A Little Review for a Great Book: Goddess Interrupted by Aimée Carter! @aimee_carter @HarlequinTeen

This week, my LRGB is the Goddess Interrupted, the sequel of The Goddess Test, that I read in last February. I was so into this story that I had to read the sequel!

Goddess Interrupted (Goddess Test, #2)
Paperback, 296 pages
Published March 27th 2012 by HarlequinTeen

Kate Winters has won immortality. But if she wants a life with Henry in the Underworld, she'll have to fight for it. Becoming immortal wasn't supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she's as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he's becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate's coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.

As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future.

Henry's first wife, Persephone.

My Rating 5/5

***some spoilers if you didn't read the first book, so watch out!!!***

This sequel was even more awesome than the first book! If you have already read The Goddess Test, you know that Kate had managed to pass all the tests and became immortal. She will also rule the Underworld with Henry as his Queen and wife.

The Goddess Test (Goddess Test, #1)YAY! What else could we ask for! Well I was hoping to read a little bit more about Henry (Hades) and most of all Henry with Kate! But as the coronation of Kate arrives, the Underworld is attacked by an old enemy and Henry (as many others) his now missing, took as a prisoner. Now Kate will have to fight for survival but also for Henry's and the other Gods. Yes Kate is now immortal but the new threat is stronger than a God. She will need all the help she can find. She has to find Persephone, Henry's ex-wife.

Goddess Interrupted (Goddess Test, #2)I was super happy to read about Persephone, she's my favorite Greek Goddess and I wanted to know how she felt about Henry and the other Gods. I wanted her side of the story and why she left Henry. The author gives us some answers and we finally meet the ex-Goddess. At first, I didn't love her, because I find her a bit pompous! Then, I liked her behaviour and the fact that she wanted to help and at the end, I totally hated her for obvious reasons that you will find out if you read it!!

The whole plot was interesting and matched the Greek mythology. I enjoyed the fact that the author stay true to some legends and myths, but came up with her own and very personal story. I liked the way she described her scenes and that makes me feel like I was there with the characters.

The Goddess Inheritance (Goddess Test, #3)In this second book, I find Kate a little childish. In the first book, I thought: hey, she's new to this world, she doesn't know how to act or what to do, how to interpret the facts and actions of people around her. But in this sequel, she's afraid of Henry's ''need of space'' and makes a huge scene about it. Even if the other Gods told her not to do it, to take her time, to give Henry some times to come around, she doesn't listen and at some point her reaction was over.

I was hoping to learn more about Henry. But the fact that he disappear after a few chapters didn't help! I find him a little bit off the game. He has a new wife, a new Queen, someone to love and that love him back, but he can't seems to be able to forget Persephone. But in the third book, I know that Persephone won't occupy his mind!

The end surprised me the most and I just can't wait to read what will happen next: OMG! That's all I have to say! This is awesome, but I don't want to tell you what happened and sell out the punch! But just so you know, I didn't see this one coming! I love when people aren't what they seems!!!
